NETWAS Uganda

Network for Water and Sanitation (NETWAS Uganda) is a local non- profit making organization that was registered in Uganda in 1996 to provide services in the water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector. NETWAS Uganda is affiliated to NETWAS International, which is part of the international training network (ITN) for water and waste management, which supports the activities of the sector in developing countries. ITN Africa Network plays an active catalytic role in the water and sanitation sector development activities in Africa.

NETWAS Uganda contributes its part to enhancing water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector capacity (numbers, knowledge and skills) and also carries out social mobilization, research and dissemination of information in the field of water supply, sanitation and hygiene from national level to grassroots level in both urban and rural areas.

NETWAS Uganda operations cover all the geographical regions of Uganda. NETWAS Uganda has a standing working relationship with NETWAS International that allows for partnership in technical support in the whole region of East and Southern Africa.

NETWAS operations are based on a five year strategic plan, guided by Annual Rolling plans. Under its current strategic plan, NETWAS seeks to remain at the cutting edge of development in the WASH sector, by being a center of excellence for knowledge management and capacity building, continues to be innovative and delivering quality WASH services. Using a highly collaborate approach, stakeholder involvement is at the heart of our work, while engaging with Local partners we help to build their capacity and strengthen their institutions to deliver sustainable services. By partnering with international NGOs and line Ministries we build our own capacities in being adaptive to changes in the WASH sector.
